MEDICAL EQUIPMENT DELIVERY DRIVER
Job Summary:
Browning’s Pharmacy and Healthcare is seeking a full-time Delivery/Service Representative to join our team in Melbourne, FL.
Education:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- A medical background is very helpful
Qualifications:
- Must communicate and work well with your fellow employees, patients,
customers and other healthcare professionals.
- Knowledgeable of equipment and product line and willingness to learn new
technologies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient files.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and in-services.
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must have good telephone skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be able to prioritize various tasks.
- Must maintain a current, valid Florida license.
- Must have a safe driving record.
- Having a current class CDL C or better with Hazmat Endorsement and DOT card is preferred, although not a requirement to be considered for employment.
Responsibilities:
- The Delivery/Service Representative is responsible to the Delivery Services Manager.
- Responsible for the delivery and/or pick-up of equipment and/or supplies to or from the customer.
- Verify that all paperwork is clear as to locations of delivery and payment source before leaving the store.
- Inspect delivery vehicle daily using the daily vehicle inspection sheet.
- Record mileage on daily mileage log and driver’s manifest.
- Match paperwork with proper equipment for each delivery.
- Wear protective clothing when needed and use lift belt and steel toed shoes at all times when on company business.
- Must participate in “on call” rotation for delivery services.
- Responsible for accepting payment from customers (cash or check) on COD orders.
- Return all paperwork and monies to the delivery manager when you return to the store.
- Instruct customers on proper use and maintenance of equipment.
- Knowledgeable of oxygen and trans-filling.
- Knowledgeable of DOT and hazard material books.
- Must keep vehicle in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and at all times be ready for mock accreditation checks.
- Other duties as assigned which may include uncompensated attendance at functions during non-business hours.
