National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month September, 2023 National Spinal Cord Injury Month honors the courage of those with spinal cord injuries and their families while educating the general public regarding SCI and improving support for the community. There are approximately 1,275,000 people (about the population of New Hampshire) living with a spinal cord injury in the United States, with that number growing every day. Those with SCI face obstacles most people rarely think about. Depending on the severity of the injury, someone with SCI may require: - A wheelchair adaptive home.
- Outside support and assistance.
- Around-the-clock medical care.
- An adaptive vehicle, wheelchair lift, or ramps.
- Businesses that accommodate their mobility equipment.
While a SCI is a life-altering diagnosis, rehabilitation, adaptive equipment, treatments and accessibility are improving all the time. There are many organizations around the country that specifically help those with SCI by gaining access to mobility equipment such as accessible vehicles, scooters, lifts, and wheelchairs. So, in recognition of Spinal Cord Awareness Month, we are featuring some of our products that can help improve everyday life and support their families. We have many kinds of mobility assistive equipment to rent or buy such as: power wheelchairs, installation of vehicle lifts and other lifts, custom ramps and more. We would welcome all inquiries regarding equipment needed to support the SCI community. |
